Avidd Community Services of New Jersey, Inc proudly serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Bergen, Morris, Warren and Somerset Counties. Our residential and community-based programs are designed to foster independence, build life skills, and support individuals in leading meaningful, self-directed lives.

Skills Trainer- F/T Pre-ETS Internship Program.

Hours: M-F 10a-6pm (occasional Saturdays maybe needed).

Responsibilities:

Working with Students with Disabilities to place in a 150 hours Internship to learn work readiness skills.
Teach Skill Training classes using Avidd's curriculum.
Weekly communication and/or check-ins with community partners including jobsites, vendors and students to monitor students' progress.
Work with local employers to develop new jobsites for student interns.
Monitor student internship hours.
Ensure all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner for state reporting.

Qualifications:

Minimum associate degree in Human Services related field from an accredited college.
Three years experience working with the DDD population.
Bogg Center Employee Specialist Foundation Training is required within 90 days of hire.
Understanding of DVRS and Pre-Employment Transition Services preferred.
Experience with transition for 14-21 years old. Youth is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
